After putting half and hour into this drawing yesterday only to be rained out, I got back to the market early today while I still felt like finishing it. And again, what a great place to sit and draw and people watch. The shopping is fun even in the rain as the pathways are completely covered with discarded corrugated metal and plastic sheeting. The prices here can’t be beat anywhere else in Hong Kong. There are very clean public toilets and the Stanley Library is right here with a good selection of books and big reading area overlooking the market. There are English menus in most restaurants, street cafes on the boardwalk, and the city noise level is well below the standard 95 decibels. And of course, what would a day in Stanley be without a lion dance. Almost hate to go home.
