I am worried that Spring might have been skipped over and Summer is here. I checked the a/c units this morning before things got too hot. Better to repair them now before it becomes an emergency later. I speak from experience because I have had to sleep on the beach before when Lamma Island had a power blackout. But at least I have the option of sleeping next to the surf when things are bad. I feel for everyone in the city who sit in their bunkers suffering through the heat. But enough worrying about things that haven’t happened yet.

Today I just made the quick trip to Shau Kei Wan and sat across from exit C at the MTR. I’ve always liked this little park full of palm trees and the tunnel vents. There is a lot of work going on around various stations. The MTR (empty R?) announced yesterday they will be raising fares (fair?) the maximum amount the second year in a row. This is despite their earnings of 1.7 billion last year. Some times you just can’t grab enough money. They must have learned this from the banks in the USA. Enough complaining. Just across the street is my very favorite Shanghai restaraunt with fried wonton and pork buns. I would walk across Hong Kong in order to save money enough to eat here. 🙂
