This is not the first time I have sat under Tin Hau Temple in Stanley and painted this section of beach. I like it here because of the shady trees and it’s far enough off the path I can spread out and not worry about being run over by pedestrians or buses. And other than the high school students who went by on a field trip earlier, it was very quiet and peaceful (not to say that teenagers are not quiet and peaceful, just not this group). Matter of fact, after I finished painting I pulled out a book and read for a while. After looking at the weather forecast I knew this afternoon would not be pleasant to sit out for too long. I brought 70 proof sunblock with me, but that only goes so far. It doesn’t stop the eyestrain from glare or dehydration from the very dry wind. The only good thing this weather is good for is drying my paint very quickly. ;P

lol, maybe we were at Stanley over the same weekend, there was a school field trip when I was there. But then again, it was kinda rainy and you mentioned sunblock…coincidence…

Hi Bonnie. I think Stanley business owners bus people in every 15 minutes. But, You should go back and see the market when it’s not raining. It’s more fun if you can eat ice cream on the promenade. 🙂
