Today is hot, but not as muggy as the last few days. I went out to the pier in Stanley to draw this picture of the temple in Ma Hang park. I love to paint and draw the rocks in Hong Kong almost as much as I like to draw trees. There is something about organic shapes that I find very relaxing to draw. I like drawing buildings as well, but sometimes the endless repetition of rectangles gets tiring. All that aside, I like this temple nested inside the trees and rocks along the shore. And the temple flags really add a nice touch. Tomorrow is Buddha’s birthday and a lot of temples and streets are decorated for the occasion. Happy birthday Buddha!
