Hot. Very hot. Got so hot that when the  breeze blew by I got chills. From now on all work needs to be done indoors or before lunch. Ok.

This painting is of the fruit and meat market on Chun Yeung Street. I actually drew the spot I sat last time I was here drawing the tram. But last time was more pleasant and not so damn hot (that’s 4 times I mentioned hot for those of you counting) I used watercolors for a general color wash and then drew over that with water soluble pencil. But between the heat and humidity, I smeared the pencil everywhere and smudged a lot of the painting. I drank about 1 liter of water per hour as well as juice and soy milk. Now I’m going home to swim at the beach if there is anything left of me.

John, your painting very loose and juicy. Maybe we don’t see what you see because it looks like it is exactly what you were trying for. Anyway I really like the painting with its exciting use of compliments and crisp detail. Nice work. Hope there was something left to cool off!

Hi Linda. Thanks for dropping by. It’s funny you mention the complimentary colors because I was halfway through painting before I noticed. BTW- the water at the beach was great! ahhhhhhh………
