It’s amazing what sleeping on an idea does for problem solving. I went to bed last night wondering how to deal with the Chinese paint and woke up not worried about it. I went straight to work and just started laying paint down. It felt good and I didn’t let too much distract me from finishing early. By 10:30 in the morning I put on the final touches and took a photograph while it was still stretched to my painting board. There are some issue I would like to address next time I paint one of these, but over-all I’m happy the result. I like laying down a dark background and painting towards the light, just the opposite of what I’ve been doing for the last year with the watercolors. Nice change.
Now I can have a big glass of iced Vietnamese coffee (I still have a 1/2 pound left) and not worry about getting shaky hands. If I hurry it will be ready when the next storm front rolls through. Peace.
