I’ve read a few articles this year that were discouraging in terms of the future of mankind on this planet.
The World Economic Forum paints a very bleak picture in their 2015 report. The big question in my
mind is not “how do we save ourselves from suffering?” But, “How do we ease the suffering that is to
come?” As the Pope announced in the USA this week, 2016 is the Year of Mercy.
So with this in mind, I went out and bought some oil paints. I haven’t used oils in 20 years because to the
toxicity of the solvents. Now I am going to try the Holbein water-soluble kind so I won’t have turps in
the house. For all the difference it will make, the irony of choosing a more environmental paint in this
day and age is not lost on me. But, if you don’t have your health, what have you got?
