Today I visited Wan Chai District mainly to introduce myself to the people at the Hong Kong Arts Center. I dropped a few name cards with various people there and headed back out to the streets.
I finally found a tip hat in the street market near Southorn Park. And while it isn’t a straw hat, it does the job and looks more normal for a “gwai lo” like me to wear.
So, back to the drawing. This is Hung Sing Temple which is built into the side if the hill. It is easy to miss as it sits back a little from the street and is surrounded on both sides by sky rise apartments. I put my hat out with my new sign stating what I’m doing. I didn’t get any tips, but a couple of people stopped to talk. One man even sat next to me and began sketching on notebook paper. I was very surprised to say the least. Now off to lunch and another drawing somewhere west of here.
