Today was chilly, overcast and windy, so I didn’t venture far from home; maybe 20 meters down the path from my house. I’ve always wanted to draw this view of the creek and the neighbor’s house that straddles it. It has always been so pleasant to follow the water along as it flows into the main village. But, it hasn’t rained in a couple of months and the creek is down to a trickle. In several places you can see schools of fish that have been caught in isolated pools. They’ll be stuck until the Spring rains come. In this particular spot where I drew there are several crayfish swimming about. If I could only catch 5 pounds worth it would be worth pursuing a big Cajun dinner, but, I would be lucky to get 3 crayfish altogether.
