I had hoped to go see Simon Birch’s paintings today, but the rain is coming down sideways. There are Amber Flood Warnings and Thunderstorm Warnings for the Region. The rain even came in my balcony door despite my 15′ awning. I’ll try again tomorrow. The show’s last day is tomorrow as well so I might just wear my rain suit. And I must say I look stunning in my blue plastic coveralls. 😉
This painting is of the United Center Building in Admiralty and is done from a photo I took. The buildings reflected are the Pacific Towers. I like the distortion of the glass combined with the hard geometry of the building’s skin. I hope tomorrow to actually see the thing I’m painting. The forecast says I’ll be inside all day. Let’s hope for the best….
