Imperial palace, Seoul

I’ve been in Seoul for the last few days taking a long weekend away from the Hong Kong heat. I had wonderful time walking the streets and eating food from street vendors in Namdaemun Market. I think Seoul, Korea is the cleanest city I’ve ever been to and this is despite the fact they have no garbage cans anywhere. Very impressive. While I meant to spend more time drawing and painting, it’s funny how you end up so busy while on vacation. Anyway, this is a painting of a door way in Changdeokhung Palace. This is one of two of the Korean Kings Palaces near city center. I cannot say enough good things about this park. It was in pristine condition and everything looked as if the king had just moved out the day before. Changdeokhung is a world heritage site and well worth the couple of dollars it took to see it. The grounds are large, and if you do the full Secret Garden tour it takes about 3 hours to see everything. The weather these past few July days were around 23C. How much better could it be?
